How to Leave Firm After 2 Months?
Hey y'all. I am in need of the collective wisdom. I joined a firm 2 months ago and its not what I expected. I want to leave, but not sure how this is best handled. Like how do I explain it to the next firm? I have an option of going back to my original firm, but would prefer to explore another firm just because its kinda awkward to have left just 2 months ago and return y'know?

No explanation needed. Kirkland will understand.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 9:35 pmHey y'all. I am in need of the collective wisdom. Going back to your old firm is going to be the cleanest break. It’s not as unusual as you might think. If they liked you, they will be happy to have you back.

This. The reality is that for a 50+ year old BL partner, generations of associates have come and gone. Associates are pretty much all just visiting. You happened to visit twice. The first day might be a bit weird, but it will be fine. If this is a boutique it will be weirder, but like they said, they liked you once.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:22 amGoing back to your old firm is going to be the cleanest break. If it’s not working my take is you exit ASAP if you’re going back to your old firm. If going to a new firm I think you probably should wait a year unless it’s unbearable.
Good luck whatever you decide.
