Lateraling: dos and don'ts?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Nov 05, 2021 3:34 pm

I'm lateraling to a different firm as a second year, and I'm really excited! I'm currently waiting on conflicts and do not plan to give notice until conflicts clears. However, does anyone have any tips or dos and don'ts they'd like to share about lateraling? Is there anything you did that you are glad you did? Anything you wish you would have done?

I don't know anyone personally yet who has lateraled since I'm quite junior, so I don't know who to ask.

If you have precedents (not as likely given you are relatively junior) or training materials saved on your office computer, I'd organize and save them now.

Check for any personal subscriptions or other services that are tied to your office email or cell (if applicable) and remove now.
