NYC offices without stuffy/facetime culture

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Oct 17, 2021 12:54 am

Anyone have insights? Assuming west coast-based firms like WCFG/Perkins/etc. may have slight but not immaterial differences when it comes to everyday life as an associate, but direct experience from current/former associates would be really helpful. I'm not talking specifically about workload, but rather the general culture / less white-shoe dressed-up corporate culture and facetime/in-office requirements that pervades the Cravaths/DPWs of the world.

You realize all of this will change/has changed because of COVID, right? It's extremely hard to say what firms will be like in terms of facetime once they reopen.

Nobody can really say, and it'll likely be different office by office (instead of firm to firm).

Seems bizarre to me to conflate stuffy/white-shoe and facetime. A lot of shops that care about facetime do so because they are relatively collegial and sociable.
