Permanent WFH/Litigation
Has anyone in Litigation approached the partners they work for about being permanently remote? I know several people in Corporate who have been able to get full-time WFH, but curious to hear people's experiences in Lit and how it was received. I would also welcome people outside of litigation to chime in with their experience of asking to be permanently remote.

I went permanently remote in litigation. It was a big undertaking, and it required a lot of conversations, but I'm glad I did it (so far).

I have asked but haven't received a response yet. Early indications are that it will be a no.

Do you mind sharing any details on how you framed it to them? Or concerns they expressed when you asked? I feel like I have a compelling reason, am well-liked/do good work/am responsive, but I am struggling on how to approach the discussion as its tricky.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 4:26 pmI went permanently remote in litigation. I'd be happy to PM you with details--it wouldn't take much to out me.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 5:04 pmDo you mind sharing any details on how you framed it to them? In general, I can say that I framed it as a life decision that I was hopeful the firm could support. I wasn't demanding; I approached it as a series of conversations and an exploration of the idea. I slowly built support for the idea, starting with my key partners and then up to management.
The concerns were what you would suspect: my work will dry up, I'll fall off track, etc.

Which firms are open to this, and are any actively hiring and open to remote laterals?
