How difficult is it to lateral from a V10 in DC/CHI to NYC?
Despite entering OCI (and indeed law school) dead-set on living and practicing in NYC, I received and accepted an incredible offer for an office in DC/CHI. As a corporate associate, how difficult would it be to lateral to another top firm in NYC, assuming my practice group is regarded as equal to if not better than those at the top shops in NYC? (However, I don't think I would seek to lateral to my firm's NYC office.) What does the timeline start to look like for these sorts of moves? 2,3,4,5 years in?
