Pittsburgh - Patent Litigation
I'm currently a 5th year doing Big Law patent litigation in CA, but am planning a move to Pittsburgh for family reasons. In an ideal world, I'd continue doing sexy (read non-troll) IP litigation, but I know that is not likely to be a realistic option. Based on my internet sleuthing, it seems like most of the litigation work is done out of other offices and those in Pittsburgh that do patents are also doing some amount of tech transactions or prosecution as well. I'm happy to pick up some non-patent complex litigation, but would like to avoid prosecution if at all possible. I know I have to temper my expectations somewhat, but I'm curious what options I'm realistically looking at.

I've looked into Reed Smith, but it seems like there are only 3 or so people in their Pittsburgh office that even claim to do patent lit, and it is clear from their bios that it's not the focus of their practice.

Re: Pittsburgh - Patent Litigation
When I went to school in Pittsburgh, the big IP firms with known lit practices were K&L; Buchanan; Webb; and Meyer, Unkovic & Scott. You can guess which ones pay more than the others, but these were the firms primarily represented in the IP inns of court Pittsburgh chapter.
