Media Company Salary
Hi All,
Lucky to have an opportunity to go in-house at a media company, and I’m wondering what a reasonable offer looks like. I’ve spent 4-5 years in biglaw in a major market. Job would be in same major market.
Any data points would be incredibly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Re: Media Company Salary
I left NYC biglaw to go to a video game company in LA almost a year ago (at the same time you did, 4-5 years in biglaw).
I make $175k + $30-50k in annual bonus now, plus 5% matching 401k (and generally great benefits, including dirt cheap insurance). I unexpectedly received a $20k special bonus last year on top of the above. I should get a small promotion within the next year, which I expect to mean a $20-30k salary increase.
No clue what's normal but hope the above's a good data point.

Don't have any helpful information but I'm curious about your background, what practice group were you in and what type of work will you be doing at the media company? Apologies for piggybacking, wish I could help.

Deep cut, but: If this is Riot, can you tell them to make some monster champions? Getting sick of the anime guys/gals, all look the same.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 8:26 pmI left NYC biglaw to go to a video game company in LA almost a year ago (at the same time you did, 4-5 years in biglaw).

Bump to see if there are any new data points for the NYC/LA market. Thanks!

Re: Media Company Salary
I did a ton of research about media/entertainment in-house positions. They are almost impossible to get unless your dad works at CAA, and therefore pay pretty badly due to their “sexy” nature.
I ended up giving up on it — curious to see if others have had a better go at the search.
