Help me decide: General Corporate (NY/CHI)
Fine living in either Chicago or New York; interested in general corporate, though probably M&A / PE, training and exit ops. In general, then, which of the following is the the more coveted corporate assignment?

There’s a huge CoL and QoL difference between living in Chicago and NY (before even considering that K&E pays above market). If you truly don’t care then go to Chicago where you’ll be able to save way more money and live a better lifestyle. It’s actually possible to buy a decent 3BR condo in Chicago for like 1/5th or what it would cost in NY and the luxury rental apartments are all like half the cost as NY or less.

they're all solid (although I would cross off Weil and maybe Cleary). none of them are like the "Supreme Court clerkship" of law firm jobs, where you can go "oh yeah I don't care whether this firm is in NY, CHI, or Boise, I'm taking it, this is setting me up for life" and people will go "yeah totally that makes sense"Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:13 amwhich of the following is the the more coveted corporate assignment?
The major difference between K&E CHI and DPW NY is ... one is in Chicago and one is in New York lmao.

Agreed, if you are good with either NY or Chicago, then I think K&E Chicago is a no brainer.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 12:57 pmThere’s a huge CoL and QoL difference between living in Chicago and NY (before even considering that K&E pays above market). Maybe in 2001... the two are equal overall, if not a slight advantage to Latham.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:52 pmDPW > Latham??LBJ's Hair wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 1:09 pmthey're all solid (although I would cross off Weil and maybe Cleary). none of them are like the "Supreme Court clerkship" of law firm jobs, where you can go "oh yeah I don't care whether this firm is in NY, CHI, or Boise, I'm taking it, this is setting me up for life" and people will go "yeah totally that makes sense"Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 10:13 amwhich of the following is the the more coveted corporate assignment?
