None of these are bad choices, but it's clearly Kirkland. Kirkland is in a league of its own in Chicago. If there was some Chambers band above 1, it would be Kirkland there with the other three firms in a band just below it.

KE-> Sidley -> Skadden/Latham in that order, with all of them being good enough you should probably think about fit and practice groups.

Why are people bumping this? Kirkland is by far the best firm for corporate in Chicago.

I think any of these are fine options and comes down to fit and what kinda work you wanna do. If this is just a prestige question the answer is Kirkland since they are the biggest name in Chicago, but not sure what "best" would mean. All these firms work with big clients on big deals outta their Chicago offices.

Kirkland is the best if you want to do PE-related work. Sidley, on the other hand, has stronger hedge fund-related practices and clients. Latham and Skadden are massive and the most global of all these firms. You can't go wrong with any firm on this list.
Kirkland's "eat what you kill" culture isn't for everyone, and other firms may be stronger for other types of work, so don't just pick Kirkland because it has the highest lay prestige.
Choosing a law firm isn't like choosing a law school. You're not just maximizing (1) lay prestige of the firm name. You're also weighing the firm's (2) culture, (3) clients, and (4) practice areas. Make sure you weigh each of these four factors equally when selecting a firm.
Good luck, and I'm sure you'll do well.
