Wondering which firms of the above are better for someone genuinely undecided between lit and corp. Currently leaning towards STB but don't want to let perceived prestige and Vault rankings cloud my judgment–I realize it's much better known for corp and that I might get better lit xp at a different firm. (Am also concerned that some firms say they will let you explore but will actually assign you wherever there's most demand...) Primary concerns are quality of the practice area within the firm, exit opps, and culture.
If anyone has insights to offer on how to decide between corp and lit prior to having any substantive firm experience in either, would also love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks!

There's too much to work with here. You'd really need to narrow it down. Get rid of Ropes and Sidley for NYC. After that you can't go wrong.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 2:37 pmWondering which firms of the above are better for someone genuinely undecided between lit and corp. OP here, really appreciate your feedback! Any particular reason you'd recommend getting rid of Sidley and Ropes?

As a Ropes associate, I’ll tell you that I think Ropes is one of the more humane firms and I’m glad to be there (I turned down several higher ranked firms when I was making my decision). However, I don’t think I would go to Ropes NY. If you’re willing to be in Boston, I would definitely give it some thought.

Of your options they are not the best players of the New York shops. What practice groups do you want?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Aug 21, 2021 3:12 pmOP here, really appreciate your feedback! Any particular reason you'd recommend getting rid of Sidley and Ropes?
