Anon because I’m giving details that could identify me to classmates.
I’m a 1L at a lower T14 outside NY and I was talking to a couple people about starting a club for people from the same (major market) region as me. I’d definitely like to end up there down the line, but am somewhat interested in working in NY first. I just think it would be nice to form a legal network of classmates in my home state that might be able to help me down the line.
If I’m bidding on NY firms, will it be a red flag if they see “cofounder of California/Chicago/Texas Club(examples)”? Is it ok to just leave that off my resume? I’m not sure whether it’s acceptable to tell them I’m very interested in working in NY after law school but might like to go back near home later in my career.
Could NY firms see me as a flight risk if I’m part of a school club for a different region? Forum

I wouldn’t put that on a resume for NY firms, no, and wouldn’t tell them I might want to work back there down the line.

Is it acceptable to just leave something like that off a resume? I haven’t had a ton of professional experience before law school so I’m not sure whether there’s an etiquette about disclosing extracurriculars like that.

Yes? I tailored my resume to different cities and firms. Everyone does.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 8:20 amIs it acceptable to just leave something like that off a resume?
