Recruiting Question - School Prestige
I'm curious to hear insights from anyone who has been involved in recruiting in a V50 firm. I attend a T100 and ranked in the top 5%. I received offers from several V20s and screeners, at least, at every V10 to which I applied directly, but lower-ranked firms denied me before even giving me a screener. Do you think my school played any role in this? I'm very happy with where I'm landing but just received another rejection today from a V50 I applied to in June, so I was curious...

May just be the nature of the market. The rich got richer during the pandemic, so the V20s are pretty keen for bodies and are keeping big classes. Speculating but perhaps that is not true further down the law firm tiers.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 2:29 pmI'm curious to hear insights from anyone who has been involved in recruiting in a V50 firm. it depends on where you’re applying. if you’re gunning for DC lit or any of the smaller markets at their prestigious firms, yeah, your school probably hurt you
