How difficult is it to change practice group as a junior if your firm doesn't do rotations for first years?

I got an offer from a firm that doesn't do rotations for first-years and I'm wondering what can be done if I don't like my practice field.

For example, would it be improbable for someone to switch from litigation to transactional (or vice versa) after the first year or two? What about one transactional practice to another?

Also, does this practice group change get substantially more difficult when combined with lateraling or moving offices?
