Goodwin (NY) vs. Fenwick (NY)
Does anyone have opinions between Goodwin and Fenwick in NY as a corporate associate? Just hoping for an outside perspective to see if I’m thinking through all the right pros and cons.

Atm, Goodwin is better known in NY but has also been treading water. Also cannot be understated that Goodwin did stealth layoffs (read previous threads from former Goodwin associates how they were treated).LawFirmQuestion123 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 14, 2021 9:32 pmDoes anyone have opinions between Goodwin and Fenwick in NY as a corporate associate? Fenwick NY is still relatively new (think they opened like 5 years ago?) but has the momentum. Plus, they are known to have one of the better work cultures in biglaw.

"Stealth layoffs" was a bs story that took off like wildfire. OP, actually speak to people at these firms and feel free to ask your contacts at Goodwin to give you context on the "layoff" story. It was ordinary course counseling out, which happens at every single firm. The numbers and circumstances that started spinning around the rumor mill are totally off base.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 10:26 amAtm, Goodwin is better known in NY but has also been treading water. Don't drink the kool-aid - definitely stealth layoffs.
