S&C vs. DPW vs. STB vs. Skadden
Have offers from all of the above firms. I'm interested in pursuing Corporate work and maybe Tax. It's hard to tell where I'd fit in best, but from speaking to attorneys, STB seems like the best fit culturally (they seem more laid back and not competitive). I also like that they handle PE clients as Funds work seems like it will only continue to grow. Thoughts on where I should go? Are S&C and DPW considered more prestigious or should I follow my gut?

All of these are competitive places. As STB associate, not telling you not to pick STB, but don't pretend that any V10 is anything less than an ultra-competitive grindhouse. All of these are effectively the same; Skadden is marginally more prestigious than the other 3, but not to the extent that it will make a functional difference in your life.

Are you sure you are not a Skadden associate? Lol at Skadden being more prestigious than the other three.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 9:35 pmAll of these are competitive places. yeah that's just simply not how it is. Maybe Skadden has an VERY VERY slight edge on STB in terms of prestige but I'd consider DPW and S&C to be peer firms with CSM in that "not Wachtell" tier. Skadden if either there with them or slightly below, depends on who you ask and how elitist they are about "white shoe" firms. Skadden being "V3" is a function of its national breadth (1000 attorneys outside NYC as opposed to STB, DPW and S&C which have ~250 attorneys outside NYC), not to be taken as sacrosanct.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 9:35 pmAll of these are competitive places.
