I received an inhouse offer 2 days ago that I really wanted but am now lukewarm about. I am currently being considered at a few other places, including some large cap companies.
How can I buy myself more time, preferably until next week to respond to an offer? I don't want to engage in salary negotiations until then just so I don't waste my time in case I end up not taking the offer.

Ask to talk with someone else in the company, like a post-offer interview to get more information. Then just schedule the interview in about a week.
