Hey all - I got a question for home office set up. I'm changing my set up and wanting to use my laptop as a "desktop" so to speak. Meaning I want to project my laptop onto 2 external monitors and use a separate keyboard and mouse and just close my laptop lid while at home. What kind of dock do I need? What are people using and what speaker system are folks using?
Thanks!!

Re: Tech Question - Dock Set Up?
Assuming your firm isn't using Apple products, just get a Lenovo USB dock. The newer models don't require the laptop to be snapped into a literal dock, so there's a lot more flexibility with the setup.

To head off any compatibility issues, I'd see if the laptop OEM makes a dock of their own. I have a Dell setup and it's pretty good.cavalier1138 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 9:06 amAssuming your firm isn't using Apple products, just get a Lenovo USB dock. I run two monitors, keyboard, mouse, speakers, webcam and Ethernet all through the box and then it connects to my laptop with USB 3.0. Amazingly convenient.

Re: Tech Question - Dock Set Up?
I would presume you used a docking station when you were in the office before, is there any reason you cannot just grab that from your office, or get another one for home? If you started remotely, could you ask either your IT or others at the firm how their docking station is set up? This seems like the kind of IT issue your firm actually might be able to answer/assist with.
