Has Anyone Tried Working With A Career Counselor?
Wondering if anyone has tried working with a career counselor while searching for a new job. I've been practicing for about 5.5 years and am interested in making a job change, but I don't really have anyone I trust to critique my cover letters, resume, and interviewing pitch. I also haven't had much luck with the applications I've sent or interviews I've had, so am thinking it might be helpful to find someone who can work with me to refine my approach. My experience with career counselors in law school was mixed but at times it was helpful. At the same time, I'm not really familiar with any friends or colleagues who have used counselors outside of law school and it seems like it might be a waste of money. Would be interesting to hear others' experiences if they've had them.
