NY Capital Markets group
Could someone tell me about the Capital Markets group at KE, Sidley and Debevoise (all NY)? Anything from the type of work that they do, the amount of hours that their associates normally put in and the culture would be much appreciated.

Davis Polk's group is by far the best when it comes to cap markets.

Latham is also definitely up there, particularly with their recent performance in the IPO/direct listing area of the practice.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri May 21, 2021 4:28 pmDavis Polk's group is by far the best when it comes to cap markets.

To provide a (mostly anecdotal) response directed at one of the firms above, I’ve only seen Sidley on our smaller IPOs that people generally care less about and they haven't been great to work with, but certainly not the worst (*cough* KE and STB *cough*).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 2:33 pmthis is kinda hilarious as nobody is talking about the firms OP mentioned/asked about...
I would likely pick between Kirkland and Debevoise with a consideration of the very different cultures.

I believe Sidley does more UW-side work. Not sure about the other two.

Also note that Sidley's Capital Markets group does some less glamorous CMBS and CRE CLO work
