Hearing about a lot of regulatory tension surrounding SPACs given the SEC's recent guidance on treatment of warrants as liabilities. And then this article saying the SPAC deals have slowed down significantly in April:

Any capital markets associates want to chime in about how this has affected workload and hours? Any material impact felt by this yet?

Re: SPAC Bubble Pop?
Only like 3 DeSPACs, in the entire market, were announced the week before last. And my SPACs have been pencils down. I hope it's popped and over. The evil greed of partners slave driving associates at places like KE and others has been despicable.

It means the SPAC boom is leaving us. That's about it. The pandemic boom could also be leaving us, but this isn't really evidence of that.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 2:03 pmdoes this mean the pandemic boom is leaving us already ...?

I think it’s in a holding pattern until the SEC clarifies where the regulatory regime is gonna end up.
Skadden and KE better hope interest rates never go up again and the SEC gives the go ahead - lmao

If by Skadden and KE you mean the equity partners, yes. I am an associate and April has actually been a livable month. There were 4 days I didn't bill, the last one before that was early January. SPAC slow down should help associate retention big time.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Apr 25, 2021 5:37 pmI think it’s in a holding pattern until the SEC clarifies where the regulatory regime is gonna end up.
