What does EOD mean?
When a partner/senior asks for something to be done EOD does that mean 5 or 6 PM or does that mean "anytime before I wake up tomorrow"?

Re: What does EOD mean?
COB (close of business) is usually by 5 or 6, and likely means they want to look at it that evening. EOD (End of Day) is usually "before I wake up tomorrow morning it better be in my inbox."Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Apr 23, 2021 9:19 pmWhen a partner/senior asks for something to be done EOD does that mean 5 or 6 PM or does that mean "anytime before I wake up tomorrow"?
Easiest thing to do though is ask for clarification and not assume it means something they didn't intend.

It means the project you are working on is very long term and no rush. End of decade.

Re: What does EOD mean?
You should ask because different people use this different. Some people use COB/EOD to mean 5:00 PM/first thing the next day, some mean 5:00 PM/some time that PM (I know some partners who start reading emails at 5:00 AM for example), some will use them interchangeably.
Also in case you are junior, asking them doesn't necessarily mean a reply "What do you mean by EOD?" If I thought I'd need as much time as I could get, I would just reply "Got it. I'll have this in your inbox by first thing in the AM, unless you'll need it tonight - let me know."
