Fun: If big law firms were sports teams, which ones would they be?
Random fun post: If big law firm X WAS a sports franchise, which one would it be (and why)?
Disclaimer: I know this is essentially another way of backing into firm stereotypes, without doing so explicitly lol

I feel like that perfectly describes the Yankees right now too.louislittmbajdesq wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 12:55 pmMore like Notre Dame.

Shearman is Michigan. Blue blood but it’s been a loooooooong time and they aren’t ever coming back.
Wachtell is Roger Federer. No scandals, pretty much the GOAT although there’s a couple challengers you could reasonably argue for, kind of uptight, unmatched in its league.
Milbank is Florida State. Every so often they do something awesome like win a championship // raise everyone’s salary, but they have no chance of beating Alabama in the long run.
Covington is the Detroit Lions

Kellogg Hansen is the Green Bay Packers. Elite talent but much smaller than everyone else.

Milbank is the NYG. Used to be amazing/prestigious, down in the past few years but have had flashes of greatness.

Agree. JD is definitely more Astros than WFT. Constant bad press, everyone (other than their own) dislikes them, yet they still think they're the best.

Sure the Dodgers have Mookie/Bauer, but the Dodgers are chock full of home grown superstars/allstars. That's why they've been so good—Kershaw, Jansen, Turner, Bellinger, Muncy, Seager, Buehler, May, Urias, Smith, and more are all homegrown. Kinda nuts how good their internal development has been.Internationalist wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 2:19 pmI think they Dodgers are a better fit since they both spent their way to relevancy.
Kirkland is the king of laterals...maybe the Yankees would be a better fit tbh.

Also, Shearman could be Syracuse Basketball. Former powerhouse program barely getting by now.

Skadden is more like Chelsea and Wachtell is probably Man City. Strong teams with shorter history. STB is also a lot better than Tottenham.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 5:08 pmTo add some soccer comparisons into the mix:

Wachtell should be Real Madrid during the galactico era. The team with the best players.gontid wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 6:37 pmSkadden is more like Chelsea and Wachtell is probably Man City. Yeah, no way S&C is Real Madrid. S&C is Bayern, very successful but not glamorous.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:39 pmWachtell should be Real Madrid during the galactico era.
