My firm is June payment so I may just give notice before to move in-house. Asking for a 2 month delay for the start date sounds like it may cause a rescinded offer.

if you will be at the firm when the bonuses are paid out, i dont see how giving notice would make a difference. wouldn't sweat small stuff like this

Sucks, but so it goes. Gotta take the in house job if it's one you want. There will always be some sort of biglaw comp around the corner...that's how biglaw gets ya.
