Skadden office transfer GPA requirement?
Incoming FT associate at Skadden satellite, hoping to transfer to NYC office in a year. GPA has dropped to median at T10 school. Is it possible?

I think it's definitely possible, but it'll be more based on need rather than GPA. I will say tho, if you tell the NY cap markets people you wanna work in their group, I'd bet they'd take you in with open arms. You just gotta make the move before the market cools down in like a few months.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 9:05 pmIncoming FT associate at Skadden satellite, hoping to transfer to NYC office in a year. Appreciate the insight. What if I wanted to do M&A instead of CapM?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 10:11 pmI think it's definitely possible, but it'll be more based on need rather than GPA. They won’t care about GPA. NYC always has room.

I think it would be a trickier move to M&A but talk to the NY office's attorney development folks and they'll give you the low down. I assume it'll be tough bc I think the group in the past few years has taken larger than normal classes but I wouldn't know for certain.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 10:56 pmAppreciate the insight.
