Lateral Chicago lit to NY corporate?

Post by l00da89 » Fri Apr 02, 2021 3:15 pm

Hi everyone, I went to WashU and am currently in my third year with a midsize firm in Chicago (SmithAmundsen/Hinshaw/etc.) and am looking at moving to NY to be closer to my family since I'm a little older than most. I am also pretty damn sick of this work and would like to move to corp if that's at all possible.

Doubt that biglaw or preserving my class year will happen, but is a recruiter the best way to go about doing this? Spoken to a couple of alums from my class year but don't know too many folks in NYC. Thanks in advance.
