Wilson Sonsini Austin
Anon because post history may out me and don't want people to know I'm considering lateraling.
I'm a Corp Associate looking to potentially make a move into WSGR's M&A/Tech Transactions group in their Austin office. Does anyone have insight on the following: culture, exit options (most important), and partnership prospects.
Thank you in advance.

Also curious about this and the general reputation/hierarchy of firms in Austin. How are King and Spalding, Orrick, Perkins, DLA, V&E, BB, Wilson (any others?) perceived generally in Austin?

Would also be curious if anyone could opine on this from the EC/VC side.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 12:20 pmAlso curious about this and the general reputation/hierarchy of firms in Austin. Don't have anything specific about WSGR but considering the number of PE/VC funds and big tech cos relocating to Austin in the next several years, this feels like a very exciting time to move to the city.

I work for WSGR in another market but the Austin office is booming.
Heavy recruiting efforts and we just hired a new partner.
I have considered asking for an internal move...

What do exit options look like for corp positions in Austin (WSGR, V&E, DLA, maybe K&E now)? Similarly, for those going from NYC biglaw (or another major market) to Austin, is it significantly harder to lateral back out of Austin to another big firm in another market down the line?
