SA background check emailed my past employer

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Mar 24, 2021 11:20 am

My V30/40 NY firm requested a reference list during background check, and actually contacted my past employer for info/evaluation of me. Should I be worried? Is this a common practice for SA program?

I found out my firm contacted my previous employer when my supervisor sent me the background verification form. There were basic stuff like "confirm start and end date" but a lot of questions where subjective like " did this employee work well with others" and " how are the employees work habits".

I think If your supervisor hated you it could be an issue, but I really doubt a firm would rescind an offer over subjective evaluations this late in the process.
