When getting referred by someone already at the firm, how do you go about lateraling? Do you give your friend your resume, transcript, cover letter, and writing sample to forward along? Only your resume? How does this work?
If you forward along a cover letter, what do you include in it?

Re: How to lateral via referral
Give your friend your resume. They send it to their internal recruiter or hiring partner asking if they are interested. Then normal from there. It's a pretty easy, straightforward process.
But tell your friend to make sure they do it the right way and follow the referral policy so they get the bonus.

Re: How to lateral via referral
Some referral policies require your friend to send you a referral link to the job posting, so I'd just ask your friend to check the policy and make sure each i is dotted and each t is crossed.
