I think the piece missing in this is at K&E a huge number of people who don’t make shares end up being partner at another firm. If you want to make partner K&E is the place to start, as easy to be scooped up by a smaller firm where you’ll be billed out as a discount than being a partner at a lower tier firm and hoping you can lateral in and convince your clients to somehow come with you.
