Piggybacking on this. Should students who hate law school even bother applying for clerkships, grades aside?

I wouldn’t. It’s like more law school.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 3:52 pmPiggybacking on this. Should students who hate law school even bother applying for clerkships, grades aside?
I don’t think that if you hate law school it’s guaranteed that you’ll like transactional, but I agree that you’re more likely to like transactional than litigation.

Enjoy law school = litigation, hate law school = maybe transactional (you may hate the practice of law altogether).
Fixed that for you. I enjoyed law school and like litigation--could not stand transactional work.

I absolutely hated law school, but mostly due to what I consider an overly pretentious environment. I also don’t agree with the antiquated means of teaching the students. I did somewhat enjoy the material and cases, especially if I was particularly interested in the facts.
But Ilove really enjoy litigating in actual practice. I am also an older student (graduated at 30 years old), so I think I was pretty much over school by my late 20s.

If you loved law school, you'll love discovery and motions practice.

this is especially true for legal research and writing. I'm the poster above who said I hated law school, but I actually enjoyed my 1L LRW professor and the course in general.UnfrozenCaveman wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 12:37 pmIf you loved law school, you'll love discovery and motions practice.
