Is firm hiring over?
So for those who struck out, it looks like firm hiring has slowed to all but a trickle, if at all. Looks like striking out this OCI means the chances of a firm job this summer are basically done. Does this confirm everyone else's experience?

Re: Is firm hiring over?
I would have thought so but I just got an email from a firm saying they were reconsidering their hiring needs and to send in new materials. So maybe, maybe not? Granted, this was a medium-large midwestern firm that usually does OCI but didn't this year, so I guess it depends on what kinds of firms you mean.

Dont give up hope yet - I just got an offer this afternoon for a firm (in Boston) that I had my CB with at the beginning of February.

Yeah, but here we are with March right around the corner and I have no interviews. Most of my rejections have been firms indicating they are done hiring. I basically picked the worst possible year to strike out. Legal career dead, it looks like.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:04 pmDont give up hope yet - I just got an offer this afternoon for a firm (in Boston) that I had my CB with at the beginning of February.

Mass mail. A few years ago a friend of mine who struck out ended up with V50 and V100 offers after emailing about 200 firms in every state in which he had ever set foot.BaronBarrister wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:44 pmYeah, but here we are with March right around the corner and I have no interviews. I hope this yields something halfway decent, but the timeline this year is absolutely f*cked.Mr. Kister wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 10:01 pmMass mail.
