White & Case (NY) vs. Wachtell Lipton vs. Cravath Swaine

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Feb 23, 2021 2:06 am

I am excited to share that I have these three wonderful options to choose from! I am extremely grateful for those who helped me get here and I am humbled at how humbling it is to be excited to share. Now I need help from TLS to choose the best firm for me! Where should I go? I love international work, so that seems to make White & Case the obvious choice, but I am a chaser of prestige as well, so Wachtell and Cravath are also attractive too. Thanks for your help!

You can have it all--Cravath is by far the most prestigious and is especially famous for both its M&A and international arbitration work. I am not even sure if W&C and WLRK have those practice areas. Easy choice.

I start to feel bad about the W&C trolling that this website has endorsed, but then I remember that terrible online screener they used this past recruitment cycle and I become less empathetic

Also their love for behavioral interviews. No mocking is too low for subjecting me to that.

Ignore this^ anon. Yes, they're that good. Some people on this forum like to deter others from top firms to decrease the competition and increase their own chances. It's a little sad really.

W&C is a perfectly respectable firm. If that was your only option, I’d say go for it. It’s on par with peer firms like Skadden. But if you’re able to choose a firm in the Cravath / Debevoise / WLRL tier, you should.

Fast forward to three years from now when some unsuspecting soul chooses W&C over Cravath solely because they run a TLS search and see these results.

Wouldn't shock me if it's genuinely debatable in three years. It arguably already is for certain practice areas.

The real tragedy would be if some poor soul picks WachTTTel based on these poll results.

Honestly I see a universe where OP is sincere / eagerly awaiting replies and a universe where OP is sarcastic and both are equally funny in different ways.

In any case, I feel like we don't talk enough about how Skadden is bad. Have at it.
