2-week notice last week; no start date yet
Last week I gave notice after conflicts clearance as my lateral firm stated I was cleared to do. However it’s been a week now and I still have no start date. I also provided references at current firm that went to the partners. A parade of horribles is going through my mind now, and just wondering what the hold up could be. Does anyone who has lateraled before experienced such a delay in start date?

From my experience, the employee (me) is usually the one who tells the lateral firm when the start date would be. Think about it from the lateral firm's perspective, they hired you based on immediate needs, so they'd want you to start as soon as possible. You tell them when you are available to start.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:16 pmLast week I gave notice after conflicts clearance as my lateral firm stated I was cleared to do. Yea—Provided an early match date that needs to be confirmed. Wondering how the hold up.
