Yes, hoping to get info on summer positions! Trying to figure out whether to hold out hope or accept a different offer

Not yet, and I will be deciding on a firm by the end of the week.

That's where I'm at too. Hoping to hear this week because otherwise I have to decide without hearing from them.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 11:05 pmNot yet, and I will be deciding on a firm by the end of the week.

Re: Anyone heard from Susman?
I went through the Susman callback process a few years ago, and I remember it took much longer than other firms to hear back.
But have they changed to doing a full summer program? When I did it, it was a four-week deal with no offer at the end, and it was assumed that you would spend the majority of the summer elsewhere. I don't see how this would affect your consideration of other offers.

Already splitting with DOJ, eliminating the possibility you suggest.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:36 amI went through the Susman callback process a few years ago, and I remember it took much longer than other firms to hear back.

Depends whether Susman is the only lit boutique you're considering doing a split with at the end of your summer.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:36 amI went through the Susman callback process a few years ago, and I remember it took much longer than other firms to hear back.

Re: Anyone heard from Susman?
I've been waiting post-callback for 3+ weeks and was wondering whether it was just me... but I think they tell you if you don't get the offer (someone correct me if I'm wrong)?

I somewhat suspect that not many summer associate decisions are being made in Houston this week

I know the earlier posters have been talking about summer associate offers, but has anyone heard anything post-clerkship either?

2L for Houston office. CB week before last, so they move slowly (also, TX is obviously having problems).

Not exactly related to movement, but if Susman doesn't hire right out of law school, what's the point of spending a summer with them? Is the idea that it'll give you a leg up when you reapply after an Art III clerkship? Are people who summer there that confident that they'll end up with an Art III clerkship and just planning years in advance?

Re: Anyone heard from Susman?
It's a short program so everyone splits between Susman and somewhere else. I would think the point is to get the experience and so that the summer will have a leg up when they apply later on.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Feb 24, 2021 7:04 pmNot exactly related to movement, but if Susman doesn't hire right out of law school, what's the point of spending a summer with them?
