Deciding between these two firms at the moment. Liked the attorneys at both firms about the same, with a slight preference toward S&C. I also like the idea of being in a small office and being able to know everyone. However, I also know Gibson Dunn’s office is incredibly prestigious in DC.
Is there anything I should consider making this decision, or is Gibson Dunn a no-brainer? I’m interested in litigation and clerking after graduation, though I do not necessarily need to work on appellate matters.

You wouldn’t be crazy to suggest Gibson is the top big lit firm in DC, and I literally have no idea what they do at S&C DC. (Worked in DC Biglaw for 5 years.) If you really prefer S&C by a lot for whatever reason, I’m sure your career would turn out fine, but it would be a little weird to pick them.

OP. I agree, I'm more interested in the mass of S&C voters or if there were any negatives about Gibson people are reacting to.Elston Gunn wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 11:46 pmYou wouldn’t be crazy to suggest Gibson is the top big lit firm in DC, and I literally have no idea what they do at S&C DC. It's probably just a bunch of 2Ls voting for S&C because they are going to S&C/looked at Vault. Gibson DC is clearly the move here.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:19 amOP.
