Latham SF v. Gibson SF v. Keker
Question in title. Interested in litigation.

Re: Latham SF v. Gibson SF v. Keker
Latham associate here (not SF). We have unlimited pro bono hours that count towards our bonus, and people really take advantage of that. As a first-year, I had almost 600 pro bono hours and no one seemed at all concerned (the review committee was actually really happy about that). I would say, without hesitation, that Gibson is the "better" firm of the two for litigation, but from my colleagues at Gibson, it seems like the hours and culture are more brutal than Latham, and there isn't as much emphasis on pro bono as there seems to be at Latham.

If you are not set on appellate, Keker is the best by far.

Re: Latham SF v. Gibson SF v. Keker
At my HYS, some of the most qualified people in my year didn't even get callbacks at Keker. My impression is that top fancy boutique > top biglaw for litigation, and Keker is definitely up there with the top boutiques. And I'd be surprised if Keker's pro bono offerings are any worse than the other two.
Keker hands down, in my opinion.

Unless you really didn’t click with the Keker people, you’d be crazy not to take it. You’ll have early substantive quality work and it’s as prestigious as it gets.
I couldn’t tell you about pro bono though.

For litigation,
Keker > Gibson >> Latham
Keker > Gibson >> Latham

As everyone else said, Keker by a mile unless there's some specific red flag based on your interactions.

Not to hijack the thread, but how would the choices stack up if it was Weil (rather than Keker) vs the other two mentioned offices. Lit, looking to specialize in IP.

The only places for litigation better than Gibson in SF are Keker and MTO.

Kinda curious as to what gives Gibson a significant margin here over the other two. Especially given the IP focusAnonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 8:13 pmGibson, by a significant marginAnonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:15 pmNot to hijack the thread, but how would the choices stack up if it was Weil (rather than Keker) vs the other two mentioned offices.
