How to know if the firm no-offers?
How do you know if a firm no-offers? Is there a way to access NALP data from previous directory years?

Also interested - even NALP data seems inaccurate given cold offers.

I would reach out to former SAs (either 3Ls or recent grads, since the 3Ls may not have been able to take advantage of the rumor mill while remote) and ask them if they heard any rumors about no- or cold-offers. I was a SA at a firm that no-offered someone and that allegedly had cold offered in previous years. Word got around. There were two big "no-offer" stories that I caught wind of and was in conversations where associates confirmed the rumors. YMMV but I'd bet this also happens at other firms - the "did you hear about what happened last year" anxiety rumor mill kicked into overdrive right around the time we were supposed to be hearing about offers.

Every firm reserves the right to no offer. Unfortunately, you're probably not going to find any concrete data on a firm's no offer rate. I believe Chambers Associate used to post general data for some firms (e.g., 200 SAs, 199 offered), but can't seem to find any with it anymore. Anecdotal accounts are going to be your best bet. FWIW, my firm (V20) offered all of our summers across the board in our CA offices last year, and we've only no offered an SA once in my office since I started (mid-level), and that's because they lied about receiving a failing grade.

Grapevine is your best bet, as unreliable as it seems. Some firms post 100% offer, despite no-offers and cold-offers. To preempt the next question, no offer means you are not welcome back, cold-offer means you can come back but you're probably fucked if you do or we might even forget we cold-offered you and treat you like a normal offeree.
