Ding from Weil NYC with a 3.55 and what I thought was a good interview. This year is tough, everyone take care of yourselves.

I have no inside info, but I’m guessing a combo of COVID making firms hire smaller class sizes as well as people accepting mostly every callback they are offered because of the ease of remote interviewing compared to traveling for those interviews.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 12:18 pmGuys it's a bit alarming to see the entire page full of dings. I got dinged from Weil with a 3.8. Don't think there's many slots left at most of these firms.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:11 pmDing from Weil NYC with a 3.55 and what I thought was a good interview. This year is tough, everyone take care of yourselves.

Its definitely a shitshow out there but I got a cb w/ a 3.6. But definitely agree that GULC holding OCI a full week after the rest of T-14 was a moronic idea. Everyone associate I speak to is like wtf is your OCI so late.GULC20222022 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:05 pmI got dinged from Weil with a 3.8. Re: GULC OCI 2021
I don't think that's true -- firms are slammed with work (at least in corporate). I think zoom interviewing has completely changed the calculus. The cost of interviewing has gone to 0. Recruiting season will basically extend from now until May.GULC20222022 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:05 pmI got dinged from Weil with a 3.8. They may not think you're a serious candidate. Yield rate is basically 100p nowadays. May not be worth the additional effortGULC20222022 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:05 pmI got dinged from Weil with a 3.8. Some Paul Hastings DC callbacks went out last week, I think the day after screeners. There's some info on it a few pages back.

The other issue I’m running into is that even for the firms where I get CBs, the lateness of OCI means all of the interview slots for this week and next have already been filled. For one CB, I have to wait two weeks to do my CB, which probably means there won’t be any slots left.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:11 pmDing from Weil NYC with a 3.55 and what I thought was a good interview. Yield rate is nowhere near 100p. Friends at HYS and CCN rejected offers and cancelled CBs last weekAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 2:20 pmThey may not think you're a serious candidate.
