All these firms seem fantastic and it's hard to gage which has a better reputation. KD and Pillsbury (NY) Reed Smith (CHI).

I also am not sure what type of law I want to do yet so I am open in that regard.

Anyone have insight on which would be better to work for long-term and industry reputation?

Congrats on offers.

Just based on anecdotes, Reed Smith is notorious for no-offering summers. A person I know didn't get an offer and had to work a non-Biglaw job after graduation.

Kelley Drye seems to pay below market, even for 1st years but people seem to like it there.

I've never worked with Pillsbury, apparently its a V100 firm. They seem to start you out at 190k at least.

I'd just pick between the latter two based on what vibes you got and where you want to live.

None of these firms pay market and they're all known for varying degrees of particularly shitty treatment of associates. Pillsbury is perhaps mildly less shitty than the other two.

Worth noting that you'll almost certainly make more money in real terms at Reed Smith in Chicago than at a market-paying firm in NYC. My friend there in health care lit, in which it's a major player, seems to like it, but then again he obviously didn't get no-offered.

Former SA at Reed Smith Chicago. What was said above about the firm not paying market is incorrect - the starting salary is $190,000 in Chicago. Further, the firm is at near a 100% offer rate. I don't know anyone that was no offered.

Is Pillsbury's HQ in NY? Based on that I'd probably take Pillsbury, I would not want to be in a satellite office for RS unless you really want to be in Chicago.

Former Pillsbury associate -- the HQ is nominally in SF but NY has been one of the firm's fastest growing offices and the CA offices, if anything, have been a bit moribund.

Reed Smith Chicago is not a satellite, it's one of the firm's four large offices and only a bit shy of its HQ in Pittsburgh

HQ is officially DC, NY is the second largest office.
