Whether and when to follow up
I am a 2020 grad currently unemployed. I noticed a biglaw in a major market was looking for laterals in a practice I am interested in. So I reached out to a partner in the team before the bar exam around the end of August and turned it into an interview. I then spoke with another partner within the team right after the bar exam. Two weeks later, I followed up with the first partner who said the firm is interested in bringing me to speak with more people in the firm. Almost two weeks after the follow-up, I had the opportunity to meet the rest of the team. It's been like 2 weeks since the final meeting and almost 2 months since I reached out to the firm, and I was wondering whether and when I should follow up with the first partner again. I am not sure whether this looks likes a lateral process or like a OCI process. Thank you in advance for your input!

Re: Whether and when to follow up
I would give it another week or two.
Earlier in the year when I was searching for a job, it took about 2.5 months from the initial reach out meeting for me to get an offer. And that was just before the pandemic. I wouldn't be surprised to see firms moving even slower now. Just be patient and if you don't hear anything in about 2 more weeks, then reach out.

For my mental health, I have decided to follow up. And I was told that the team has paused hiring as they want to make sure they really need another body and there is no formal timing when they will take another look. So frustrated but life has to continue!
