Cravath explicitly prohibits NY/NY splits, but do they allow 2-3 week touchbacks with other NY firms? For example, if I did my 1L summer at another NY firm, could I do ten weeks at Cravath and then go back to my 1L firm for the last few weeks of summer?
One post (viewtopic.php?f=23&t=278851&p=10044288& ... #p10044266) suggested Cravath allowed this. But that's from 2017 and the poster wasn't positive.

If you do the touchback after the Cravath SA, then I don’t see how they would even know. Also, do you already have the Cravath SA lined up?

Nope, this is pure speculation. I'm just trying to get more info before we bid on winter OCIs.

In my experience, when a firm prohibits split summers, they mean that you are required to participate in their full program and cannot leave early to join a second firm. As long as you do the first firm’s full SA program, then going to a second firm for the last couple of weeks of the summer is generally fine. I know several people who did this, including someone who summered at Cravath.

My law school friend did a touchback at another NY firm, but she finished the full summer program at Cravath first.
