What are you wearing to WFH?
Incoming first year starting biglaw remotely in a couple weeks. I'm wondering if I have to invest in work clothes now, or if I can put it off until we're back in the office. How often are you all having zoom meetings, and what do people usually wear? Can I get by with wearing simple work-appropriate tops and sweaters with joggers every day? Or should I be putting a blazer on every day and wearing what I would wear if I were going in to the office? For context my firm is technically business casual, but over the summer most lawyers were wearing full suits every day.

I just try not to look like too much of a slob. Only time I’ve worn a suit since wfh started is when I’ve appeared on video in court.
Probably a good idea to have at least one jacket and a few shirts and ties just in case, though.

T-shirt jeans sweatshirt. I’ve barely seen anyone in a collar in months and never a tie. Corporate though. Even our clients and partners don’t dress up for zoom calls and many of them wore suits before WFH. We put on a collar for pitches though. I don’t know how anyone could be expected to dress up when there are kids screaming, dogs playing around, people walking in the background, etc. it’s a different world and a nice change.philepistemer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 2:11 pmI just try not to look like too much of a slob. Ask you HR as firm dependent.

No one cares what you wear. Just start off wearing a polo, dress shirt, or work sweater and a tie and jacket for court appearance, although some people don't even do that. You can wear a t-shirt once you see everyone else doing that or after a couple of months and you feel comfortable. I wouldn't waste money on new clothes right now unless you find a sale. Zoom meetings can be every day or a 1-3x a week. It depends.4567lkjh wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 1:03 pmIncoming first year starting biglaw remotely in a couple weeks. I'd start with shirt and tie for zoom and then transition to polos. Keep a suit jacket around for court or mediations.

I've worn a collared shirt exactly once since March.

Re: What are you wearing to WFH?
I have a few blouses I throw on if I'm on a client call or a webinar, but other than that it's all joggers and tshirts/sweatshirts all the time. My group does not care what we wear for internal calls, and I haven't worn a suit jacket since leaving the office in March. I keep a nice shirt nearby in case I need to throw it on if something comes up and there's an unexpected zoom call. Presumably you have a few business casual tops, and that should be all you need unless your firm is super formal.

Golf polos: extremely comfortable and a smidge more professional than t-shirts.

Shirtless with video off unless I am the main presenter, in which case a golf polo.
