I'm starting at a law firm in a few weeks and been told that I will likely be taking/defending depositions once I start. I've tried criminal trials, but never had to take a civil deposition. I know the firm's going to provide some training on this, but I'd really like to make a good impression and hit the ground running.
Can anyone recommend a practical resource for me so I don't make a complete fool of myself? I don't mind investing a few hundred dollars in a really good resource. Also, any practical tips or things you wish you knew before taking a deposition are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I recommend this: https://www.amazon.com/Effective-Deposi ... 961&sr=8-4
Excellent book. Author was my prof in a simulation course in law school, and it was great prep for practice.
