EJW Career Fair 2020
Hey everyone
3L here. Thought I'd open a thread for the EJW virtual fair now that apps are final. Has anyone heard any news about interviews for employment? What are the interviews like?

If it's anything like how it was last year for 2L, they won't send out interview selections until the deadline, which this year is Tuesday the 29th.

Anyone here from any PD offices yet? I know in the past they've notified before the deadline.

Anyone else apply to the Senate Office of Legislative Counsel? Let me know if you get an interview
I threw my hat into the ring, but my GPA isn't so hot so my chances are slim.

They're releasing all results (from those who haven't asked for extensions) at 3 p.m. today, per their email. So don't panic yet.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 7:32 amAnyone hear back yet? Can't tell if a lot of places asked for extensions or if literally no one wants to interview me![]()

I also didn't get the email! Was wondering if I just struck out across the board. Now that I think about it, I did get a weird email yesterday saying that I'd applied for an EJW fellowship and explaining next steps even though I have not applied for a fellowship. Maybe some wires got crossed?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 7:32 amOoh I didn't get that email. Thanks for the heads up!

Email text for those who didn't get it:
Thank you for taking the time to register for the 2020 Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair—the nation’s largest public interest legal career fair.
For those of you who applied for prescheduled interviews with our participating employers, you will be notified of the status of each application and will be able to sign-up for specific interview times beginning on Wednesday, September 30 at 3:00 PM (EDT).
Please note: If you applied for a position, you will receive an email either informing you that: (1) you have been invited to interview; (2) that you have not been invited to interview; or (3) that you have been selected as an alternate candidate.
Additionally, some employers have requested additional time to review applications and make their selections, so you may not receive all of your email notifications at once. We anticipate that all notifications will have been sent out by Saturday, October 03.
As a reminder, the deadline to sign up for an interview time is Friday, October 09 at 11:59 PM (EDT).
This year, all interviews will be 20 minutes long and will be conducted via our Pathable platform. To learn more about our virtual platform, register to receive a recording of our webinar: "Going Virtual: A Student's Guide to Navigating Pathable."

Re: EJW Career Fair 2020
anyone know how we'll find out about rejections/waitlists? i got automatically generated emails with interview offers from 2 offices but haven't heard back from the remaining 5. do we think bad news will be via email as well? pretty annoyed that so many employers can just blow past the deadline...

I got a rejection via email for one position already. I think it just depends on when they upload their list, and then the emails go out. Applied to around 15 positions and have heard back from 4.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 3:08 pmanyone know how we'll find out about rejections/waitlists? i got automatically generated emails with interview offers from 2 offices but haven't heard back from the remaining 5. do we think bad news will be via email as well? pretty annoyed that so many employers can just blow past the deadline...

As of now, I applied to 5 and have 1 rejection and 1 invite. I'm curious to know what "at or about 3 pm" means at this point.
