Any NYC biglaw is back to office?
Out of curisosity, has any law firm in NYC ended WFH and returned to the office or has decided an end date?

I am not aware of any NYC firms that have ended WFH and required people to come back into the office. Every top NYC firm, to my knowledge, is letting people WFH until at least the end of the year. Many firms also have procedures in place for associates/partners who want to come into the office (for example, to use any office equipment or for remote hearings where being at home might not be suitable).

Thank you! This is very helpful. If it is not inconvenient for you, could you name some firms you know that let people WFH till the end of the year?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 12:18 amI am not aware of any NYC firms that have ended WFH and required people to come back into the office. Literally 100% of the v50 will not make people go in until there is a vaccine. Cultures may vary.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 4:14 pmThank you! This is very helpful. Re: Any NYC biglaw is back to office?
I don't know any NYC biglaw offices open even for voluntary return to the office. People from firms up and down V100 are saying partners have been saying January at the EARLIEST and April is starting to get punted around as realistic.
People just don't know. We are all tracking Covid progress and we'll return to office when people feel safe to do so and that's pretty much that. Even the partners that wish otherwise won't rush it out of concern for legal liability and bad press. Realistically, this probably means no return until vaccines are ready.
NYC offices will probably open late. A lot of partners here take public transportation to work. A lot of NYC offices are at literal tourist destinations. And of course, the population density makes it that much harder to be safe pretty much every step you take.

Kirkland is open for voluntary return by attorneys. Lawyers can go in whenever they want (after filling out a health survey), and support staff can go in with permission as necessary.notinbiglaw wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 12:39 pmI don't know any NYC biglaw offices open even for voluntary return to the office. S&C is also open. Same process as the Kirkland poster indicated for K&E. A significant number of partners and senior associates seem to be going in on a daily basis.

My V5 is doing the same thing as of Labor Day. Highly doubt anyone is required to go back until 2021, and probably mid/late 2021 if you really wanna milk the WFH cow.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 1:10 pmKirkland is open for voluntary return by attorneys. To add on, my V10 is open for voluntary return and have not committed to staying WFH beyond November, although the likelihood is that it will remain optional until at least January.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 1:10 pmKirkland is open for voluntary return by attorneys.
