What's going on at Skadden?

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Sep 05, 2020 1:52 am

It looks like some professional staff were laid off: https://abovethelaw.com/2020/09/skadden ... s-offices/

Is Skadden in big trouble? They are one of the two v10 firms that deferred the incoming class to 2021.

I’m all for bashing random over-ranked biglaw firms but no, Skadden is not in big trouble.

Skadden associate here but no particular special insight

Honestly our partnership is just maximum biglaw. They’ll take the opportunities they can to maximize PPP while they have plausible PR cover from the pandemic. Cutting staff, deferring associates etc. Same basic mindset and philosophy that got us our sweatshop reputation. If they could get away with cutting insurance they would

Tl;dr: we’re not poor we’re just evil
