Hello Current Associates of Willkie,
Will be joining the corporate team later this year. How is the firm handling COVID? Should we expect any surprises? How did the firm handle incoming first years and existing associates during the last market crash? Any inputs would help an otherwise restless soul.
Peace to all

Incoming summer here also acutely interested in how things are going. My understanding is that the firm handled 2008 well without mass layoffs of first-years, no-offers, etc.

Also another incoming summer and also interested in how Willkie has been handling the situation- does anyone have any anecdotal information or statistics on how Willkie handled offers and layoffs during the recession/ has there been any talk about how the virus is going to affect the incoming summer class?

I totally understand the angst, but this is not worth worrying about. There is nothing you can do, and ship has sailed on looking for another job (if shit hits the fan worse). Worrying about stuff like this will drive you crazy. Enjoy law school being (likely) closed or operating in some remote manner, crush the bar exam, and stay healthy. As far as summer concerned, firms are triaging, summer associates are the last thing on their mind.

Any updates for first-years? It's still been radio silence for summers, although also seems to be no bad news coming out at least.
