Does anyone have any insight into their firms’ lateral hiring? Last weekend a number of recruiters reached out to talk and I responded and they haven’t gotten back to me. I thought it was strange given that recruiters are usually quick to get back.
I know my firm has put lateral hiring on hold, so I’m wondering other firms have as well (and why recruiters aren’t responding).
I’m still trying to switch firms and there’s no better time than the present.

My v50 just instituted remote working for the next two weeks (at least), so I doubt enough people are around the office to conduct lateral interviews. I'd hold tight for a bit.

I did a lateral full round interview earlier this week which went extremely well by all accounts. Even if they get back to me and say yes, I doubt I’d be able to start until May. No firm is going to hire and onboard someone right now given the combination of the economy and everyone working remotely.

I was interviewing for firm roles about a month ago (in a secondary market) & all firms have, as of 2 weeks ago, pressed pause on interviews across the board.

Thanks for the update. I thought that was the case. Recruiters who submitted me a few weeks ago haven’t gotten back to me so I’m assuming that firms probably aren’t responding. I know my firm has completely stopped looking and know a number of firms that have removed all open positions from their career pages.
