NY PFL with Employment Gap?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Mar 10, 2020 7:37 am

Hi Everyone,

I’m thinking about taking a new job soon, and my wife is due in May- unfortunately I won’t qualify for paternity leave under my new would-be employer’s policies since I won’t be there long enough. Am I out of luck? I think NY PFL also requires six months of employment and while I’ve worked at my current place for over two years, I Obviously won’t make that threshold at my new place.

I’d GREATLY appreciate any advice/insight y’all have. Thanks!
