Worried about fired, speak preemptively to partners?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Feb 25, 2020 4:59 pm

I'm at a firm and I'm scared I am going to be fired because:

1. a partner told me my drafting is behind where it should be
2. a found a copy of an associate's resume within one year of mine in 2 partners offices and we arn't that busy
3. low billables
4. general sense

Question is, is there anything i can do about it other than prepare for next job (i.e. polish resume, apply etc.). Like should i go to a partner and tell them i'm dedicated to improving or something along the lines, before the nail is in the coffin (assuming it already isnt?)

any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

You’re looking at this the wrong way. You shouldn’t be salvaging this job. You should be looking for another NOW.

#1 is the most concerning sign. Unless you’re a first year, that’s never a good thing to hear.
